Tourism has a significance in our lives, and in order to maintain that significance of tourism in our lives every year WORLD TOURISM DAY is being celebrated every year world wide in order to bring out the significance and importance of travel and tourism in our lives.
World tourism day is observed every year across the world on 27th of August in order to increase the importance of travel and tourism in people worldwide, and after the introduction of the day their is a positive change noticed in people after generation of positive perspective towards the tourism. First ever World tourism day was celebrated and was introduced by United Nations World Trade Organization (UNWTO) in 1980, there after 27th of September is being observed as World tourism day every year.
Significance of World Tourism day :
Presently a lot of Countries are a part of this organization and have also launched and promoted their new offers related to travel and tourism in their city and the country, this will help the countries to make aware other people about their culture, tradition of their own beauty of their country and would help them financially in numerous ways.
Theme this year :
Are you aware of the Theme for the World Tourism day? The theme this year is “Rethinking Tourism”, the actual aim for this theme is to make people rethink for the travel and tourism which has seen a downfall during the Covid period across the whole world, this time the theme would help to make people think of tourism through education, employment which will be able to grow the sustainability across the world.

Every year the event to promote the significance of the tourism and travel is being celebrated in a very huge way at different locations across the world, this year the location and the venue for the event is in Bali, Indonesia.

On occasion of the World TOURISM Day Secretary General of UN said : “World Tourism Day celebrates the power of tourism to foster inclusion, protect nature and promote cultural understanding. Tourism is a powerful driver for sustainable development. It contributes to the education and empowerment of women and youth and advances the socioeconomic and cultural development of communities. It plays a critical part in the social protection systems that form the foundation for resilience and prosperity.”
As a responsible citizen and a sensible human this is our reasonability to at least contribute something that is beneficial to the world tourism in anyway which can bring a change for good.
