Just after the Coronavirus was coming to an end, another disease broke out not among the humans but in cattle. Now as the majority of the Indian states have witnessed the disease among their cattle it has been declared as an Epidemic disease among the cattle and animals. We all have heard about the disease in the news these days, covering the majority of the front pages now its the time to know what exactly the disease is all about and where was it first originated?

What is Lumpy Skin Disease?
Lumpy Skin disease is a serious skin disease targeting the cattle and animals, is an serious infection transmitted among the animals via the files, bugs, mosquitos and other insects other than this the disease is also observed in the cattle because of dirking contaminated water and food.
The dieses is caused among the cattle and is caused due to the virus called Poxviridae, on a general note the disease is being identified among the animals because of the nodules that are being formed on their body, which may spread over their whole body depending on the seriousness of the disease.

When was the 1st case reported in INDIA?
The first case of the disease was reported in APRIL 2022 in Kutch district of Gujarat, and once the 1st case was reported their is no looking back, the infection among the cattle is increasing intensively, once the case was reported then other states also started reporting the same, states like Himachal Pradesh ,Punjab, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh were among the states who reported the cases in a huge numbers. As consequences the milk production across the Rajasthan was effected and reduced by2-4 lakhs of litter per day.
According to the latest research the disease may result in emaciation, loss of production for several months, infertility, and in extreme cases, death. Presently around the disease has killed over 57,000 cattle across the country.

What is the solution ?
As the disease has already took so many lives of the cattle and animals across the country, vaccines are now available due to which the lives of cattle’s can be now saved, Sheepox virus (SPV) and goat pox virus (GPV) -based vaccines were being used to counter the disease. Another best thing is that the Indian doctors have come up with the solution of Indigenous vaccine for the disease which i called as Lumpi-ProVacInd.
