The first batch of Indigenously made light combat helicopters which are named ‘Prachand’ which are capable of firing missiles and other weapons was introduced and induced on Monday by the Indian Airforce. While talking about the helicopter Union Defence Minister RajNath Singh said that “It is a momentous occasion reflecting India’s capability in defence production,” and also revealed that the helicopters are being named as ‘Prachand.’
The Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) has being designed order for the development of high altitude regions, the helicopters were induced in IAF in a special ceremony held at Jodhpur in presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. According to the officials the helicopters have already passed various wepon firing tests already. Approximately 95 of these choppers have been allotted to the Indian Army, already handful of these have been allotted to them and other than that 65 of them are going with the Indian Airforce.
Although the project is going to help the country in various ways but the project is a bit too costly , the initial allotment to the Indian Air Force was more tan 3,500 Crore. Further talking about the new choppers they said that the helicopters will be the most important element in order to meet the operational requirement of IAF and Indian Army. The helicopters can also e used in the high altitude bunker-busting operations in urban and jungle areas too.

The introduction of such new things into the Indian Army and other defence forces is defiantly going to be helpful to the Country in many ways.
