PM Modi while addressing people at the launch of 5g services in Delhi said that “”Many people made fun of my vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat…a handful of elite people used to think digital is not for the poor. Go see what political leaders used to say in Parliament. But I had the conviction in the inquisitiveness of the common public.” Further while talking to the people he added the 4 pillars of digital India and added ” We emphasised the price of the digital device, the connectivity, the price of data and the vision of digital first.”
Further while addressing people he expressed his exactment and joy that now India is one of the digital countries across the world and now 5g network will be able to reach the rural areas of the country too, he also said that India today is the 2nd country to manufacture in producing and exporting phones across the world.
Further taking the conversation on a lighter note he also not failed to mention that beggars these days in the country accepts digital payments, and majority of the small traders are also shifting towards digitalization of the country. The no. of internet users across the country is more in the rural areas than the urban areas, all in all he wanted to make it clear that Rural India is also growing faster.
While comparing the era of 2g and 5g he further said ” in 2014, there were only two mobile manufacturing units in India. The number has now crossed 200. The cost of data has also come down as India has become self-reliant. In 2014, 1GB of data used to cost ₹300 but now it has come to ₹10. Internet users now consume 14GB per month. This used to cost ₹4,200 per month in 2014. But now it costs somewhere between ₹125 to ₹150.”
