Finally its the time of the year for which people across the country wait for, its the Navratri season, finally the time when people get to enjoy with their loved ones, they do garba, worship to Maa Durga they get to try different delicacies and what not.
Navaratri is the most awaited Hindu festival celebrated all over the country with different and varied names and tradition, most popularly known as Navaratri in the Northern part of the country which clearly means 9 days (Nights) where Goddess Durga is worshipped for the 9 days along with her different Avatars. Specially in Gujarat, People around start the prep for Garba festival prior few days of the festival, they dress themselves in the garba attire, the houses fill up with the aroma of Dishes made up of Desi gee, Along with tasty food being made on this occasion, their are people who tend to practise fasting during this 9 days of festival.

Fasting is being observed as the way to pay gratitude to the Hindu Deities from the very ancient time and in order to pay gratitude to Goddess Durga fasting is being done to impress Goddess in these 9 days of her presence. What to consume while fasting?
Generally, majority of the food items which are light on the digestive system and are light to stomach are being eaten while fasting like Milk, Curd, Sabuana, Sattu flour, Singhada’s flour, fruits, Makhana and other things are consumed in order to stay energetic and hydrated while fasting the whole day.
Science behind fasting :
No doubt Hindu tradition follows the fasting process from thousands of years now and and we all know that Ayurveda which is the oldest text written according to the Hindu tradition says that fasting helps to clean the body as it helps to detox the body naturally, this has its science behind it, If a person do not eat for the longer period of time and then tend to eat which is quite heavy on the stomach will eventually lead to bad health, in order to avoid these problems after fasting, Ayurveda has already suggested to consume food items which are lighter on the stomach which are naturally cooked with Desi Ghee which will help in better digestion and good gut health which will eventually help the person to have energy after not eating much the whole day.
