World cotton day celebration : Know the reason behind.
Who doesn’t know Cotton, the most commonly used plant based commodity. Be it be clothing, food, or anything else Cotton is the most common and the favourite thing to be chosen. The product which is with us since ages but never being recognized as the super commodity, whose importance was provided during the freedom struggle. India is one of the leading producer of Cotton across the country, but is used in many other ways across the world.
And in order to bring out the importance of such commonly used product which is majorly the lifeline of each and every person 7th of October every year is observed as “World Cotton day.” The importance of Cotton was recognized by World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2019, and hence every year this day is being celebrated in order to increase the importance of Cotton among people. This year will be the 3rd year of celebration.

Theme for the Celebration of Cotton day :
Every year the day is being celebrated with a particular theme to be remembered, this year the theme is “Weaving a better future for cotton,” this year this theme is being used in order to increase the sustainability of cotton cultivation for the better further of Cotton workers. The event is being organized from 12 to 15 pm according to the Central European Summer Time (CEST) on October 7. Celebration of this day is a joint decision taken by WHO ,WTO and others to offer assistance to “Cotton-4″ nations, which are Benin, Burkina Faso, Chad and Mali, and other cotton-producing countries in Africa, to develop cotton by-products and its markets.
This day is being celebrated across the globe in order to increase the significance of the most underrated commodity which is also the most commonly used commodity and to do so , meetings, conferences are being held for the cotton growers, stalk holders, processors and others in this matter.
